RM Gallery set to open in Phoenix with inaugural exhibition and scholarship initiative

RM Gallery, a new fine-art gallery founded by Rose Marie Stremel-Mell, is set to open in Phoenix on November 14, 2026. The gallery will debut with an inaugural exhibition featuring ten artists and a scholarship initiative aimed at supporting an art student at Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts. The exhibition, titled "Reimagining a Legacy: Honoring the Artistic Inspiration of Arizona’s Native Son," will showcase works from artists including Billy Schenck, Gary Ernest Smith, and Indigo Blue, among others, and will be on display until December 12.

Stremel-Mell's vision for RM Gallery is deeply personal, rooted in the legacy of her late husband, acclaimed Arizona artist Ed Mell. She expressed her desire to create a space that not only celebrates art but also gives back to the community. “I wanted to create a gallery that gives back and carries forward the legacy of my late husband, Ed Mell in a way that continues to enrich the arts,” she stated. The gallery’s scholarship initiative will allocate 10 percent of each sale to fund the RM Stremel-Mell Scholarship for Art Business Impact, with the first award scheduled for Fall 2027.

The public opening will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on November 14 at RM Gallery, located at 2337 N. 10th St., Phoenix, AZ 85006. In addition to the public exhibition, RM Gallery plans to host several private collector events, enhancing opportunities for engagement between artists and the community.
